Madeleine follows the tradition of grand hotels with luxurious cocktail bars: its double-height windows, sparkling chandeliers, and rich soft furnishings make it at once super-glamorous and utterly enticing.

We think that once you are sat at your table, sipping a cocktail or a glass or Champagne, you won’t want to leave – and who can blame you?

Our hope is to establish Madeleine as somewhere that’s exclusively for everyone, a glamorous setting that’s perfect for special occasions, celebrations, and treats but equally somewhere you can drop by on the spur of the moment (subject to availability, of course). 

With this in mind, we have a few guidelines in place, which are designed to ensure everyone’s enjoyment.

Dress Code Madeleine is perfect for dressing up, but we draw the line at “fancy dress”, such as hen parties in tiaras, learner plates, etc., or sports fans in their team’s kit. Similarly, no sportswear, please, and no balloons.

Groups We take bookings for tables of up to eight people. This is the maximum size, as larger groups can dominate the room and impact on other guests’ enjoyment.  If no availability is showing online, that means that all of our tables for eight are already booked.

For occasions when you want to get together with more than eight people, The Grand has some lovely private rooms, including the Horton Bar.

Bookings & Walk-Ins At busy times — in particular weekends and early evenings during the week — Madeleine can be booked for some considerable time in advance.  The quickest and easiest way to book, amend or cancel a reservation or to check availability is always to book online using the “Book A Table” button on this page. We usually hold back one or two tables for walk-ins, with priority given to guests staying at The Grand.
